Joe McCartney, Founder and President/CEO of Pioneer-360 Named Lifetime Achievement Award Finalist

This month, Pioneer-360 received some exciting news. Our Founder and CEO/President, Joe McCartney, has been identified as a finalist for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award through Channel Futures. To even be considered a finalist amongst the hundreds and hundreds of applicants is a huge honor – Joe obviously stands out in a crowd for his unwavering dedication, hard work, and contributions to the IT industry, to his community, and to Pioneer-360; the IT company he started over 34 years ago in the most unexpected way.

Where It All Began

In 1989, Joe McCartney, Senior Programmer at a local computer company, went on his annual Canada trip but this time with a twist. He got an alert via emergency radio to come home as soon as possible. While Joe was in Canada, the owner of the computer company quietly and abruptly shut down the business and he left behind tens of thousands of dollars of outstanding projects. The other employees of the business left the building and locked the doors. However, Joe’s wife and his sisters took it upon themselves to unlock the doors and take phone calls, telling clients not to worry – Joe would be back.

Joe saw an opportunity and took it; he started Pioneer Programming Inc. in the basement of his home in New Philadelphia, Ohio to give clients the support they needed. Over the next 30 years, Joe transformed Pioneer Programming Inc. into what it is today. Through business acquisitions, name changes, and expanding service offerings, Pioneer-360 is now a SOC2 Type II Certified MSP/MSSP. Joe has revolutionized the way we offer services – he has stayed ahead of the curve for over 30 years, and has leaned into new ways to do IT.

Throughout his lifetime, Joe has always given back – through his church, through sitting on boards of a multitude of charities, and through various community affiliated programs. Joe sits on the board of every committee he can, he donates his time, money, and expertise whenever possible, and has been an incredible role model for all those who know him. He offers a helping hand to anyone he sees with a need, and always has a smile on his face.

Wishing Him Luck

Joe has spent his lifetime making a difference for others, and trying to do as much good as he can. We cannot image a better fit for a Lifetime Achievement Award, as we cannot image anyone who has spent their lifetime giving back to others more than Joe McCartney. So, wish him luck as we eagerly await the results to be shared at the MSP 501 Awards Gala in November!
